Positive Energy, Inspiration, and Compassion: The Shared Ideals of Concentus & Alex and Ani

Since joining Concentus in 2007, I have been so touched by the passion and positive energy of our members.  Many of us have experienced some major life event(s) during the time we have been members.  For me, I’ve had two children, performing up to eight months pregnant, and along the way, feeling the genuine love and support of my singing sisters. Now, as a mother of young children, I feel like the women of Concentus are “family,” as they have been a part of my motherhood journey.  I’ve also experienced the loss of my grandmother, a musician herself and a loyal fan of Concentus.  Again, the women of Concentus were openly supportive not only at the time of the loss of my grandmother, but also every time I tear up during “Lake Isle of Innisfree” (my grandmother’s favorite from the last concert she was able to attend). Other members’ life events that are part of the Concentus story include marriages, major illness, loss of parents and spouses, career promotions and other professional recognitions, loss of jobs, and birth of children.  Throughout these life changes, Concentus is a support system that we have all looked to for hope and peace.  

I was introduced to Alex and Ani, a jewelry store based in Rhode Island, with three local stores, when I was given a gift by my mother.  It was a bracelet with an Om charm, symbolizing unity among all people.  The philosophy of Alex and Ani is positive energy, inspiration, and compassion for all beings.  I connect these ideals with Concentus, and the way we bring hope, peace, and purpose to each other, as we share the common thread of music.  

So, what better partnership than Concentus and Alex and Ani coming together to share positive energy, and promote the missions of both?  Alex and Ani will be hosting a fundraising event for Concentus, a 501c3 organization, on March 12 from 6pm-9pm, when 15% of profits during that time benefit Concentus.  We will combine forces to share the philosophies of genuine compassion and positivity in this joint event, hoping both Concentus and Alex and Ani fans will support us!
